‘Nobody looks back and remembers the night they had plenty of sleep’ I think it’s so important to give ourselves time and enjoy things without worrying about the future. In today’s time, I believe students, and people generally are so overworked that even sitting idle to enjoy a cup of coffee feels like time wastage to some.

In today’s time, I believe students, and people generally are so overworked that even sitting idle to enjoy a cup of coffee feels like time wastage to some.

I joined Amal fellowship because I was free from my exams and wanted to do something productive. But as soon as my articleship started the workload became too much to manage that at the point I thought I would have to dropout from…

It has been 120,960 minutes since I started my Amal Journey and I know that all good things come to an end, but I did not expect it to happen this soon. Every minute that I have spent in this fellowship has taught me something, I’ve learnt new things, challenged myself, I have managed to step out of my comfort zone and most importantly I’ve made some amazing new friends.

When I look back at the start of my Amal Journey I remember before I joined I was so skeptical about how students would connect with each other in an…

‘All good things must come to an end’ I don’t think I have ever resented this quote aa much as I resent it now. This fellowship has been a rollercoaster ride, with highs a lows, but it’s definitely going to be remembered forever.

When I look back at the weeks I have spent in this fellowship with my fellows who became friends, I can think of a number of great memories I have made and moments I cherish.

However, there is one moment that lives in my head, this was the time when a fellow helped me with my work…

I thought I would not procrastinate writing this blog but here I am, writing it a day before deadline. Its quite ironic how we are told that phones are distracting but guess where we have to set a timer on? yes, our phones. This really tells us how surrounded we are with technology and how unavoidable it gets at times.

So I decided that I will use a task that I enjoy doing and apply the Pomodoro technique on it, I really wanted to see if I would get distracted while doing things I actually rather than same old boring…

The 5 Amal totkay have been summed up really well to develop a growth mind set. Self talk, get out of your comfort zone, create new habits, ask people help, fake it till you make it are all great tips to adopt for a growth mindset, and they’re fairly easy, can be incorporated in out lifestyle very easily, for example ‘get out of your comfort zone’ so I’m sure most of us have that fixed place at the dining table, if our sibling takes our place we get into a fight, I surely do, so how about we change that…

Due to the fact that paper bags are not durable, people are more inclined to use plastic bags that are very harmful for the environment.

Plastic bags make up pf approximately 73% of beach litter, and guess what is the average time a plastic bag is used for: ..12 minutes!

Plastic bags are so abundantly used that you might just find one next to you while reading this, and why wouldn’t you when worldwide, about 2 million plastic bags are used every minute. Here I am attaching a picture of a plot next to our house, this doesn’t even depict…

From the SMART goals that I have made I’ve decided to pick the goal to incorporate sustainability into my life.

I have this goal because I think time is running out for us to reverse the damage we have done to our home, our planet. Sustainability is important not only for us but for every living thing on this planet and I can not see animals and plants dying due to our careless behaviour.

So the first task for this was to replace single use items with reusable items.

For this I collected all the plastic bags in my house…

This definitely has the be the most productive activity I’ve done for Amal academy.

When I started doing this activity I was sitting in my bedroom, My room is the smallest in the house so its always messy.

The object I identified which needed to be fixed was my bed since its the most messy.

Here are my 5 acts of kindness I did as part of a project for AMAL ACADEMY.

This definitely has to be my most favourite part of the project because it happened to bring out the good in me, which i really enjoyed.

1) Made tea with ginger and cardamom for my father and my mother. They had both been really tired after holding a dua for my grandparents death anniversary. Therefore to release their stress I made some ‘adrak wali chaye’ (ginger tea) for them to show that I care about them.

2) I cleaned my brothers room and…
